About this property

Former jeweller workshop conversion into modern flat. Grade II listed building, high ceilings, period vault, safe, fireplace and counter and beautiful style throughout. A place you will absolutely love!
Former Home of T C Phillips Jeweller - established in 1955 and L R Pearson - engine turner - established in 1950.
The building dates from 1859. It was an early purpose built jewellery works, erected on a domestic spot. Three storeys red brick with an early use of Gothic detailing, quite elaborately modelled for a modest 3 bay front of this kind. Stone and gault brick dressings. Ground floor has flanking office and works doorways with a transomed 3 light colonetted central window. Sill bands to first and second floors. The arched first floor windows are grouped in a panel, the foliate carving to the caps of the dividing piers continued as impost string across front. The head of the panel has bricks cut as if part of a billet mould and the same pattern occurs below the dentil brick eaves cornice, across the flat head of the second floor triple group of windows, also set in a panel with Gothic carving to the caps of the dividing piers.
